Don Thomas. Principal.

Don has been practising since 1971. Having been to school in the area then first starting work as a Lawyer in New Lynn in 1971. Don has almost unmatched experience and knowledge of the West and it's unique features and attractions.

Don’s areas of law are primarily any type of property or property development transaction, commercial transactions, financing, Maori Land Law.

Christine Thomas. Legal Executive - Practice Manager

Christine Thomas is still working at Thomas & Co. Christine has been with the office as our Estates and Trust Legal Executive since 1985.

Alison Jones. Senior Lawyer Litigation

Alison is our senior Litigation and Family Law Solicitor. She has been part of our litigation/court team since starting with us in 1988. Alison's main area of interest and expertise is Family Law, ranging from matrimonial property issues to custody and estate claims.

John Gandy

John commenced with us in 2010. John has a LLB/BCom and is part of our litigation team with Alison. John primarily handles Civil and Family litigation matters including Trusts, Estates and relationship property. John comes to us following time as a Barristers Clerk and Neighbourhood Law Office lawyer.

John is another from the west, schooled at St.Peters and Auckland University where has achieved a string of academic and sporting awards. John has a wide range of leisure interests acting as a student mentor, active involvement in music, Rugby and Basketball interests.

Emma Marquart. Legal Assistant - Litigation

Emma is assistant to Alison and John in our litigation team. Alison is often out of the office on Court appearances or seeing clients in the office when they are here. Speak to Emma to get answers to any question you might have or action you want taken. She will get that done for you.

Emma also hails from the West having attended Green Bay College then starting work for a City Law office. A working holiday in Australia has then developed on that experience to make her a valuable part of our client service.

Michael Richardson

A BA/LLB and 2004 Senior Prize in Law from Auckland University. Michael is from West Auckland (schooled at Henderson Valley and Liston) so is familiar with the area and people. He started in early 2006 working in the property, residential and commercial, and trust fields.

Michael is a passionate Football (Soccer) follower and is player coach for Waitakere City Mens Div 3 and a Spurs supporter.

Gena Sommers

Gena started with us at the beginning of 2010 as a Law Clerk. Since qualification with an LLB and Certificate in Business she now looks after client property, wills and trust matters. At the same time she provides backup for Don & Michael on other non litigation matters. Another West Auckland resident schooled at St.Mary's College and Auckland University. Gena has wide ranging interests including Mentoring for young students and support groups for female students. As well she has achieved representative level in Basketball and Wrestling.

Jonelle Lonergan

Jonelle is the Assistant to our property, commercial, trust and estates staff. Commencing with us in 2007 on leaving Lynfield College Jonelle started as a Junior assistant. She has worked as assistant to both our property and litigation teams. Having completed the Legal Executives certificate course she is now looking after our residential property conveyancing and assisting Don and Michael.

Rebecca Lawson. Receptionist Office Administrator

Rebecca is the face of Thomas & Co. The first point of contact by telephone or at our office, Rebecca is the one to talk to. She will direct your call or take your enquiry. Rebecca is another local from the West having attended Rutherford College and presently studying for a Diploma in Business at Unitec.

Raewyn Rogers. Legal Executive Office Manager Trust Accountant

Started with us originally as an Office Junior in 1976. Over the intervening years, as evidenced by Raewyn’s titles, she has worked in a number of areas within the practice.
